2 Kings 3
9 So the king of Israel set out with the king of Judah and the king of Edom. After a roundabout march of seven days, the army had no more water for themselves or for the animals with them.
---------
16 and he said, “This is what the LORD says: I will fill this valley with pools of water. 17 For this is what the LORD says: You will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you, your cattle and your other animals will drink. 18 This is an easy thing in the eyes of the LORD; he will also deliver Moab into your hands.
---------
20 The next morning, about the time for offering the sacrifice, there it was—water flowing from the direction of Edom! And the land was filled with water.
_______
the 3 kings and their armies took a route through the desert of Edom enroute to fighting Moab their enemy. they were dry. walking thru Edom - walking in man's limited strength. they were walking in circles. after 7 days, they ran out of water. they found themselves in a perfect valley situation brought about by depending on their own strength. they had to seek the Lord.
when you come to the end of yourself and turn to Him, even when u find yourself in a perfect valley, the Lord says He will fill it up. with the waters of His Grace. His unmerited Favour. you may not see how it comes about, yet this valley will be filled with water. He will fill the valley with pools of water. not just for you. but because of you, everyone around you also gets to drink. He says this is an easy thing for Him!
the next morning, the waters flowed from the desert where it was dry, right into their valley. wow. the dryer the place, the more the Grace.
the rest of the passage shows how the victory was given to the Israelites. Don't focus on the circumstances, focus on the Grace that is present in your circumstances! A valley situation filled with Grace, leads to triumph over the enemy!
good one jem! even in the valley, there is Grace. MUCH MORE Grace!
