2 Corinthians 3
7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

posting this to remember.
we are destined for glory. keep our eyes on Him.
the second verse "beholding as in a mirror..." reminds me of this sermon i heard last week in Bethel by Ray Hughes (prob in iTunes podcast):
ReplyDelete"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does." @James1:22-25
what struck me was that in the past, i always thought this verse is about knowing what i need to do and being obedient, a change from the outside in. but rather, its about knowing the glory that is in us, through the mirror of the living word, and being transformed by that revelation, from the inside out. the word is 'the perfect law that is freedom' :)
yes bro =)
ReplyDeletebeing a doer of the word is to remember the goodness and the grace of God. it is not about our performance at all!
pray we are not just hearers of the word but doers too (not forgetting the goodness and grace of God, that we received thru hearing)
beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, we will be transformed. =)
