The pessimist says "the cup is half empty"
The optimist says "the cup is half full"
The children of God say "my cup runneth over"

Breakthrough

2 Samuel 5
17 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, they went up in full force to search for him, but David heard about it and went down to the stronghold. 18 Now the Philistines had come and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim; 19 so David inquired of the LORD, "Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?"
The LORD answered him, "Go, for I will surely hand the Philistines over to you."

20 So David went to Baal Perazim, and there he defeated them. He said, "As waters break out, the LORD has broken out against my enemies before me." So that place was called Baal Perazim. 21 The Philistines abandoned their idols there, and David and his men carried them off.

22 Once more the Philistines came up and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim; 23 so David inquired of the LORD, and he answered, "Do not go straight up, but circle around behind them and attack them in front of the balsam trees. 24 As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, move quickly, because that will mean the LORD has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army." 25 So David did as the LORD commanded him, and he struck down the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.

Be led by the Spirit.

Same enemy, 2 different occasions, 2 different approaches. The first time, God told David to go, for He will surely hand over the enemy. The second time, David was told to go behind them and attack them in front of the balsam trees.

Reminds me again that there is no formula with God.

Seek the Lord of the Breakthrough, and He will surely give you the breakthrough.

was pondering on the love of God, and the power of God.

God is love. The heart of the Father is love.
we are in a time when we are receiving great revelation of His love. and along with that revelation of love, a revelation of His power.

believe there is a realm of His power that He wants to show us. we must know that this realm of His power is part of our rightful inheritance. our job is just to discover it.

but we must also remember that the power of God - signs, wonders, moving in the prophetic and the gifts - only serve to magnify His love. the basis must always be the heart of the Father. love. we do not run after the spiritual gifts, but only the love of God - through what Jesus did for us at the cross. these gifts are then an outcome of that revelation of the love of God.

the power of God in and of itself, without the love of God, is pointless.
For example if I prophesy, or give words of knowledge to someone, without loving him/her, there is no point in giving the word.

In that sense, there is no distinction between the love and power of God, is there?

For love is the greatest power of God.

selah.
Been really under-the-weather these few days. really tiring going to work and going to the rehearsals (have a role for My JTC Day) and stuff. not sure wats happening, but I declare that Jesus has already purchased healing for my body, and that by His stripes, I am healed and whole. It's already settled.

God's favor rests on me. in this season of rest.

more revelation.

been pondering lately.
bit foggy. clearing up soon.

humility

honor your parents.
honor your (spiritual) leaders.
honor those whom God has put in authority over you.
honor those who have obtained the breakthrough.

for in all this, you honor God. and you will be blessed.

wash my feet

John 13:1
Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

knowing full well that His disciples would fail Him later that night, that Peter would deny Him 3 times, that His sheep would scatter, He loved them to the end. wow.

John 13:3-4
3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself.

Knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God - this speaks of Him knowing His Identity. What did He do? He chose to serve us. wow. Why? because He loved us. To the end.

John 13:8-10
8 Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!”
Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part
with Me.”
9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and myhead!”
10 Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” 11 For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, “You are not all clean.”

this reminds me of what a friend told me: Let Him wash your feet.
He said, if I do not wash you, you have no part with Me. Not in me.
He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet. Our salvation is complete, once we accept Him. There is no need to be bathed again. We have only need to wash our feet. Our daily walk gets dusty with the dust of the world. and He wants to daily wash our feet with the water of the Word.

John 13:5
5 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.

after washing, He wiped their feet with a linen towel. Linen speaks of righteousness. It always has to end with the truth that Jesus, through His finished work on the cross, has purchased the forgiveness of all our sins, and has imputed to us forever, God's righteousness.

John 13:14-15
14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.

As He has done to us, so we ought to do the same for our brothers and sisters. Wash each other's feet through the sharing of the Word, encouragement in the Word. Edify one another. Remind each other of what Jesus has overpaid for us at the cross.

I thought I'd better write this down. =)
